Book and Textile Recycling

Curbside Textile Collection Begins February 26, 2018

Beginning Monday, February 26, 2018, "pre-loved" clothing and shoes can be left in the pink bags distributed to your home by Simple Recycling, a vendor of the City of Framingham, and they will be collected on your regular collection day.

  1. Fill the pink bags with clothing and shoes.
  2. Set the bags out by 7:00am on your collection day
  3. Their drivers will collect the bags and leave new ones for you to use.

Please place the pink bag next to your recycling cart.

The RDC accepts clothing donations of all types, including coats, jackets, footwear, blankets and the like.When you get to the RDC, just place your clothing in the container located behind the attendant’s shack. Acceptable Items for Recycling
All of the following Items can be donated in any condition as long it’s clean and dry:

Footwear
Shoes, Boots, Sneakers, Heels, Work Boots, Cleats, Pumps, Dress Boots,
Slippers, Sandals, Winter Boots, Flip Flops

Clothing
Jerseys, Pants, Undergarments, Sweaters, Jeans, Socks, Sweatshirts, Sweatpants,
Shirts, Dresses, Skirts, Slips, Tank Tops, Shorts, Pajamas, Blazers, Slacks, Coats,
Wool Items, Hats

Accessories
Gloves, Scarves, Pocketbooks, Book Bags, Backpacks, Belts, Ties, Bathrobes

Linens
Sheets, Aprons, Comforters, Blankets, Dish Towels, Throw Rugs, Curtains, Draperies,
Table Linens, Pillows, Pillow Cases, Duvets

Stuffed Animals
In any condition. 95% of all textiles can be recycled or reused.


FRAMINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
All proceeds from clothing and book donations go to the
Framingham High School Scholarship Fund and are
awarded to a student who demonstrates a scholastic
commitment to the environment and recycling.
In May of 2017, The Department of Public Works awarded $1226.03
